Right to Information

Understand and use your right to information

The Right to Information Act, 2005 gives Indian citizens the right to request information from public authorities. Sukhi Bharat helps you understand this right and prepare and track your application — as consultancy and case-management support, not as a government authority and not as a guarantee of what you'll receive.

What we help with

RTI application preparation

Understanding what information you're entitled to request, and help identifying the correct Public Authority and Public Information Officer (PIO) to address your application to.

Submission record-keeping

A record of your application — where and when it was submitted, and the reference number issued — kept alongside the rest of your case.

Response & deadline tracking

Help tracking the statutory response window and any reminders relevant to your application, based on the dates you provide.

Reply & document management

Any response or documents you receive are organised and stored securely alongside your RTI matter.

First Appeal assistance

If you receive no response, or an unsatisfactory one, we help you understand and prepare a First Appeal in line with applicable timelines and rules.

Second Appeal / complaint assistance

Where legally permissible, help understanding the Second Appeal or complaint process before the Information Commission — availability depends on applicable law and the specifics of your matter.

Translation, typing, printing and compilation of RTI-related documents are also available as part of our document & administrative support services.

What we don't do

Sukhi Bharat is not a government authority, and RTI decisions rest solely with the concerned Public Authority and the Information Commission. We do not guarantee that any information will be disclosed, that a response will be received within a particular time, or any other outcome. We do not file or represent you before the Information Commission as an advocate would — our role is consultancy, preparation and case-management support, subject to applicable law and professional requirements.
